Superb Christmas Windows Makeover

You know it’s time for you to do some redecorating work but you still can’t decide how. Why not change it up this holiday season and turn your windows into the focal point of your exhibit? You can dress up windows in an infinite number of ways. Here are just some to get you inspired:

Glass Art:

Using privacy window film is an excellent way to beautify your windows. You can purchase rolls or sheets online or hit the nearest home improvement sales outlets. Green and red shades of the film will make a more conventional Christmas look, while white and aquamarine will create a winter wonderland effect. Holiday-specific designs are also available. Whatever type of privacy window film you select, you need not worry about the cost as these films are sure to fit your budget.

You can have a DIY fun activity with your kids making ornaments with frosted window film. Trace Christmas season figures such as candy cane, snowflake, or star shapes on a cardboard and cut them out using stencils or cookie cutters.

Now that you have a template, repeat the draw-and-cut procedure, but this time on the film substrate. Remember to do so on a flat surface topped with a cutting board or mat. This way, you will not have to worry about the knife blade marring your table. You can also create strips of window peel and attach them on all sides of the glass pane, or just the top and bottom portions.

Another creative option is to do art on the film itself. Jazz it up via tube paint or rubber stamps. You can also use the printer and have images, photos or illustrations added.Besides design flexibility, window peel is generally preferred because it can be installed and taken off easily without damaging the surface.

Drape and Dangle:

Hanging Christmas ornaments on window sills is absolutely perfect for the season. Lights and wreaths are standard by custom. Ribbons in holiday tones and designs add to the festive atmosphere.Wreaths and branches decked with pinecones and red berries can turn heads as well. Combining art and functionality is very practical. Hanging the stockings on the window sill rather than by the fireplace is a good example. If the sill is broad enough, consider putting snow globes there.

Box Appeal:

As window boxes stay bleak for the winter season, they, too, can be used to adorn windows. You can cover them with fake evergreen garlands or stuff them with pinecones and some toys. Large decorations including miniature Christmas trees can be used as superb accents. Just ensure that those you put in the box are suited for outside use. Otherwise, they might deteriorate under rough weather condition.

This season, you can make your windows become warm and inviting with simple treatments. All you need is a bit of originality, artistic vision, and ingenuity to collect the material you need. You can even turn it into an ideal time for bonding with your family, especially if the snow outside is bad. So you will not only get to stand out in your neighborhood but also share valuable time with your loved ones.
