Cellular phones are an amazing advancement. They allow us to continue to be connected to the world around us at any instant, pretty much wherever we go. We have our cellular telephones everywhere we go, even to the beach, pool club, or into the restroom. There is a strong possibility that a cellular phone will endure water damage. How many times do you hear about people who have accidentally dropped their telephone into the sink or toilet? The standard warranty that comes with your cellular phone will cover many things that could occur with it but most definitely won’t protect you from water damage. Don’t take the trouble to try to deceive the cell company by telling a story that the cellular phone has gone through some other form of damage because they will know how to tell right away that the cellular phone has water damage.

If you drop the cell telephone into a puddle of water don’t get nervous. It is upsetting to believe that you may forfeit all the information you have stored , but inhale deeply and you’ll see that all may not be lost. You may be able to repair the water damaged mobile telephone yourself. It is crucial to get the phone out of the water as quick as possible. If you can’t retrieve the telephone in a matter of seconds, it is best to remove the battery pack from the telephone under the water. This takes away any heat from a short in the cell telephone, precluding additional damage. The most horrible harm is inflicted when a wet cell phone is connected to a power source so take out the battery promptly. Remove the SIM card from the water damaged telephone if it has one, dry it, and set it aside.

Now you are ready to dry the cell phone. Take off any covers that you can so that air can touch the inside of the cell and carefully shake it agitate it move it around to take away as much water as possible. Use a vacuum with a hose attached to pull the water out of the cell phone. Keep the vacuum tubing from the cell phone to avoid the buildup of static electricity which will heighten the hurt the components in the phone. Store your phone overnight in a box of raw rice. This will take up any remaining moisture from the phone.

After the allotted time set the cell phone on a paper towel for a few hours. Examine it once more to see if there are any signs of moisture. If there is any wetness repeat the complete process again. After the cell is fully dry and appears to be clean inside replace the battery and turn it on. If the telephone is still not functioning take the battery out again and plug the cell phone into the charger. If the telephone functions now you know that the battery pack is destroyed and will have to be purchased again. If the telephone still doesn’t function you can take it to be serviced. If it is not salvageable then you have no choice but to do without a cellular telephone or have it replaced.
