Podcasting is, undeniably, becoming a major source of entertainment in today’s world of busy commuters and hunched-over cubicle jockeys. Podcasts are a way to removed yourself from the harsh glare of the fluorescent bulbs overhead and enter a world that is tuned in to exactly what you want to talk about. Free Internet radio is taking off like a wildfire across every major city in the United States, Britain, Australia, and Canada. In just a couple more years, people will be talking about what Podcasting superstars like Ira Glass and Marc Maron have on their show instead of what happened on the television the previous night.

Backlinks: The dummies guideBy admin on October 20th, 2009 | No Comments
Often called off page links, backlinks are the oxygen of search engine positioning and traffic generation. Backlinks have three key elements, the web page from which the backlinks come from, the anchor text of the backlinks and what’s on the page to which the backlinks directs the visitor to.
The number of backlinks
All search engines look at the amount of backlinks to a web page when deciding where this page should appear in the search results.
The origin of the backlinks
The source of a backlink can pass authority and indeed traffic to the page to which it points. So it follows that pages with backlinks from authoritative pages will receive fairer consideration from the search engines. Obvious examples of trusted sources of backlinks carrying higher authority are pages in education (.edu) and government (.gov) web sites..
Google Page Rank
Backlinks from web pages with high page rank (a value awarded by Google to a page that it has observed over a period to have attracted, sustained and continued to accumulate relevant backlinks) pass some of their page rank via the backlink to the target page.
The ‘anchor text’
When you see a backlink on a web page it often has a label a word or text associated with the subject at the page to which this backlink is pointing, what this ‘anchor text’ says has influence upon the value the search engines give to the link. If the content of the page is about ‘parenting’ and the backlink on the page is labeled or given the ‘anchor’ text ‘parenting’ then the search engines consider this to be of more value to the searcher looking for results related to ‘parenting’ than if the backlink was labeled ‘babycare’.
Common problems
It’s not unheard of for novices to confuse the quantity with the quality of backlinks and become quickly frustrated by their lack of progress For instance if the volume of your backlinks to your ‘parenting’ page come from sites not related to ‘parenting’ then whilst you have backlinks they will almost always bring you the wrong visitors.
How to create backlinks
So here is my tried and tested guidance for getting backlinks to your pages, high rankings in the search engine results pages and quality traffic to your web pages.
- Choosing the right keywords from the outset is essential.
- Your objective should be to end up with a keyword cloud.
- You should always begin by identifying a key word or phrase which has a high volume of traffic.
- To discover the amount of visitor traffic is being generated by searches for my top level keyword I use the Google keyword analyzer tool.
- The Google tool creates a list of keywords related to my main keyword and from this list I grow my cloud.
- I then manufacture content in the form of articles and videos containing backlinks with the correct ‘anchor text’ to my ‘money’ or ‘target’ page and push these to a wide range of content directories.
- When I write my content I do so with the searcher in mind so as each item of content attracts backlinks to itself as well as sends backlinks to my target pages.

Future Thinking Home Office Online Marketers Find a N...By admin on October 14th, 2009 | No Comments
An Updated PODCASTING Report:
From One Goal Oriented Internet Solopreneur to AnotherDuring a recession like this, discovering how to make more money is always the highest reward experience for experienced corporate executive.
How does this happen? Low and behold, it really should not be any surprise that one of the best ways that is encountered for the corporate executive improve the bottom line is to publish and market a book and become a bestselling author.
Congratulations, you’ve decided to publish a book…that’s great! A book can give you credentials and help you to attract ever increasing numbers of clients to your business. And if those are your only goals, then the sooner you publish and market a book, the better. However, if you are just focusing on having a book fast, you might miss one of the best reasons for having a book…and that is to make money.
Getting an eternal bestseller credential and attracting more clients can actually be achieved quicker and easier says book business expert DrProactive Randy Gilbert, if you “slow down and take some time to create a bestselling business around your book”. He says that you will be rewarded with a betterbook, more money, and a continuing stream of revenue that far exceeds what the book alone would have earned.
It can make you a bestselling author, and a millionaire at the same time, which is why DrProactive named “bestselling business”. Getting busy and starting to write and market a book that has a business created as an integral part of it, is critical.
There are a number of components that can help market your book successfully, no matter what its subject. Some features are absolutely necessary if you want to sell enough books to make it a bestseller. Everyone knows that in order for your book to be sold in retail stores, it must have an EAN barcode, an ISBN number, and certain bindings and features.
However, if you add certain less well known features to your book, you will hugely expand your book’s marketability. For instance, almost every New York Times Bestseller has certain features and it would be wise to incorporate them into your book so that you improve your chances of being one of them too.
Listed below are the top 7 features that will make it much easier to promote and market your book into becoming a bestseller. When you design these features into your book (right from the beginning), you will market your book faster and better than other authors who fail to do so.
Feature 1 – Find a powerful theme and build it out. {Give your book a zesty title that grabs attention}. Write your book outline to be specific about what will attract the right people to your book. Don’t just grab a bunch of your best ideas and slap a cover on it. That will get you a book, but it won’t be a bestseller. You need a book that you and others will be excited to market.
Feature 2 – Become known as the top expert by collecting stories from others. Ask people to share a personal story in such a way that it has a self-help element. You’ll reach a bigger audience if each story provides benefits and helps the reader to see how they could apply the lesson to their own situation. Tips, strategies, insider secrets, specific examples, and important resources are things you should add to every story, whether it be yours or others.
Feature 3 – Quote lots of experts and you’ll build in promotional value. Each quote should be selected to fit in the topic and message of that chapter. Some experts may be flattered enough that they will help promote your book to their customers, which helps both of you. They may even purchase books directly for their special clients and colleagues.
Feature 4 – Proactively seek out interviews and endorsements, and find the right person to do the Foreword. Interview other experts if you can and use the opportunity to get relevant examples for your section of the book and audio clips for promotion. These interviews and testimonials will add authority to your book.
Feature 5 – List all of the people and organizations who helped in creating the book. You can also try to find a company to cover the costs in return for notable attention in your book. Finding a partner to sponsor you in your book promotion is often very beneficial.
Feature 6 – Your book will be much easier to read and reference if you include an index. This feature will make your book much easier to sell to libraries which will enlarge your readership and help you draw more customers to your website. Yet this feature is often ignored in the book writing process.
Feature 7 – Create a resource section with a topical rolodex. List numerous agencies, organizations, associations, services, and other professionals related to your book’s subject. This feature will help increase your audience, and give those listed in the rolodex a reason to help you distribute and promote the book.
Bonus Feature – Have a bibliography in your book. This is not only helpful to the reader who uses your book for research, but there are many people who like to own copies of the books that include theirs in the bibliography. You can list the books of all the authors who were interviewed, quoted, or who gave stories and examples.
SUMMARY:
Add in as many of the above features as possible to your book. Especially focus on the features that get other people involved in your book, because the more that you involve others and promote them, the more likely they will help you in promoting your book… it is called the Law of Reciprocity and it works like a charm.
If you need help to find out how to publish and market a book that produces revenue and makes you a bestselling author, then follow the secret recipe that others use to achieve that goal. Make a decision to use the Key Factors outlined above and keep your eye on the ball, and you’ll knock it out of the park

Get Yours Today - Free PodcastsBy admin on October 8th, 2009 | No Comments
Podcasting is an excellent tool which should be part of any businesses’ marketing strategy. Knowing how to podcast is technically fairly straight - forward even the most non IT savvy person. A basic microphone, suitable software and a laptop is all you need. But at the end of the day you need to entice your market to listen in after all there’s no point making a recording that nobody will listen to.
It’s hard to keep coming up with new ideas when you are thinking about what and how to podcast. You can of course offer expert tips and advice to your customer-base, but I believe you could go further. Think in terms of marketing and public relations and suddenly you’ve got podcasts that really are worth listening to.
The benefit from taking a look at correlated sites for details on free podcasts is that you can have recommendations from colleagues as well as specialists in that subject matter. Incidentally, podcast directories are not exactly the main bodies, they are just the ones who list all the sites, without regards as to how relevant or reliable that podcast data is. Nevertheless, a healthy diet website would be extremely cautious about which podcasts they will give their backing to.
Moreover, when the members or registrants in that website share to you what particular free podcast that they have used, they can also inform you whether it was good or not. Plus, they can also let you know if it was absolutely free or not.
· Community groups of podcast enthusiasts
If you’re among the countless podcast fanatics, you should know that there are so many people like you, who have already combed the web for the ultimate podcast resources. These same people regularly come together at various websites that are solely devoted to podcasting enthusiasts. In these websites, they usually impart reviews, ideas and tips about different podcasting services.
Your event doesn’t have to be quite as mad as the Brooklands slot car idea, but you could invite interesting people in your field down even for a buffet lunch. You could then interview and release the interviews over time in a series of podcasts. Alternatively you could attend an event in your specialty, with the organizers’ permission, and produce a series of recordings. You could do the recordings on the organizers’ behalf but mention your companies’ name at the beginning of the podcast. There’s so much potential if you know how to podcast and this new medium is very effective and can be a low-cost marketing activity

Google Authority & Backlinks do’s and don&...By admin on October 7th, 2009 | No Comments
Phew, this is a big subject and I need to emphasise it’s not an exact science. But here is what I know in my research at the Backlinks clinic:
Authority - basics
The more authority your site has the better you will rank on Google. Authority means that searchers trust you and your content. The good news is that authorities trusted by humans are also trusted by Google. A good illustration is the .edu and .gov domain extensions. These domains imply they are credible sources of information and it’s a proven fact that as far as Google is concerned backlinks from these web addresses to your web pages will send authority to your web pages. Another great example is Wikipedia as the entries here are mostly authored by by tribes of people as opposed to a single marketer.
So it follows that authority is significantly influenced by the source of your backlinks and if authoritative web pages link to your web pages then you receive their influence and as far as Google is concerned you become more authoritative and so the trust in your web pages by Google goes up.
How Google declares what is and isn’t authoritative is undisclosed for solid reasons and falls in line with Google’s thinking of “Do no evil”. The last thing the net needs is someone exploiting the mechanisms that Google untilzes in its efforts to try and bring some order to probably the most important technological resource of this period in history.
How not to get Authority and Backlinks
And on this thought it’s valuable to state some obvious sources and practices of building backlinks that Google not only dislikes but appears to be moving aggressively to ‘classify’ as negative authorities. In no particular order of severity, the prime offenders are:
- Paid backlinks – hubs where people buy and sell backlinks
- Comment spam – entries that have links on web pages that are just not related to the main content.
- Low quality and *duplicate content – ‘scraped’ or otherwise
- Unnatural growth – there are a myriad of ways that this is achievable, Google isn’t dumb. Any sudden increase in the number of backlinks is going to register on Google’s radar, especially if it’s a brand new domain.
- Backlinks from ill reputed web pages – these are particularly henous as you are guilty by association - need I say more.
*There is another factor where I may be on dodgy ground, but reputable press portals seem to get a lot of authority and I have definitely seen significant numbers of the same article over and over again on different portals with no penalties, I am still monitoring this, only as some of the results I am seeing go against the normal behaviors I normally expect to see. More on this is in a future post….

Making Your Website Known To The Search EnginesBy admin on October 2nd, 2009 | No Comments
If you are looking for targeted traffic, you should definitely turn to search engines to get them. In order to make sure that you do not miss out on this important source of website traffic, your site must be highly visible to the search engines. Know more about search engine companies through google secret loophole bonus materials.
Search engines are definitely valuable to many online businesses that depend on traffic from them to earn money. Making sure your website is visible to the search engine is the first step to make sure you get all the advantages of search engine traffic. Search engines send software programs known as spiders to find websites to index. Software programs they call spiders look for your website and index them. There are several easy steps that you can do to prevent common mistakes and problems that will make you invisible to the search bots.
You should know that search engines do not understand everything in your website. So, if your website is purely made up of images and animations, you might as well put it down because search engines will not understand your website. To better understand what the search engines see, view the source code of your website. If you don’t see the text in the HTML code, search engine spiders won’t see it either. More text in your website means that it has more content for the spiders.
Your target keywords should always be in your website. Your keyword should be the search term that your target visitors will be typing in the search engines. Your website’s title should contain the primary keywords that you are targeting. It makes sense to put good keywords in the title since it usually describes what a website is all about. Sprinkle some keywords in the content of your website to affirm the relevancy of the keyword to your website. Howeer, do not put too much keywords as search engines will see that this is unnatural.
If you get to make search engines love your website, you can take advantage of the highly targeted visitors looking for you. This is an opportunity all webmasters should not miss.

Email Marketing’s Role In Internet MarketingBy admin on October 2nd, 2009 | No Comments
When you hear the term “internet marketing“, what do you think of?
For many, that term conjures thoughts of websites or spamming or search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing. For others, it’s all about graphical design, writing fancy code or even affiliate programs. All of those answers correct, but the essence of internet marketing is much simpler.
At its core, internet marketing is about these things:
* Understanding the target market to which the product/service/cause you’re marketing will appeal
* Determining exactly how your target market interacts with the internet
* Positioning your content on the internet to attract the attention of your target market
* Collecting information about your target market (also known as “leads”) for follow-up and conversion into sales
* Design of offers or incentives to induce the desired actions from your leadsSince there is insufficient space in this article to give all of these topics adequate attention, let’s focus on just one specific topic with the realm of internet marketing: Email Marketing.
My best payoff has always come by focusing on permission-based email marketing. Permission-based email marketing refers to the practice of collecting information (including email addresses) from website visitors and communicating with them via e-mail with their direct consent. The “permission” aspect of permission-based email marketing is what separates legitimate email marketers from the spammers that everyone despises.
My love of email marketing is strong for one reason: It works very well. Email marketing has been much like a never-ending goldmine: It enables us to produce income on demand simply by sending a good offer to our list. When you have thousands of loyal subscribers - as we do - and you put a strong and compatible offer in front of them, income becomes nearly automatic.
However, the key to successful email marketing is the development of a legitimate trust relationship with your subscribers. If you opt to send your subscribers a request for purchases every single day, they will likely tire of your badgering and cease reading your emails altogether.
Alternatively, if you take the time to provide good content to your readers on a regular and frequent basis, you’ll discover that your readers take all of your emails far more seriously, and as a result your emails will be opened, read and acted upon with greater frequency. Essentially, email marketing is really an exercise in trust.
While there are many more aspects to internet marketing than just permission-based email marketing, email has definitely been the cornerstone on which our business is built.
