Just as our world changes every day, so too should the way that we conduct business–there’s no way of getting around it. Among the most significant opportunities to arise in recent times for innovation-indeed a necessitator of change-has been the advent of the internet; the new ways to operate are simply countless compared to before the advent, which were previously plain impossible.

Some Steps To Follow To Build Up Your TrafficBy admin on July 18th, 2009 | No Comments
Any website owner who starts down the path of internet marketing will soon discover how many “guru’s” are out there all claiming some secret trick to boost your search engine rankings. The reality is there are a few things to really pay attention to, but most of it really comes down to hard work. The amount of time required to see results is usually dependent on the competition in the area you are targeting - could be as low as a week, or could take many, many months of work.
The biggest factor in your traffic is always the quantity and quality of the links to your site - sure the website needs to be created correctly, with all the SEO stuff done as well. The PR(page rank) of the site linking to you is important, as is the content on that site. Two way links used to work well, but anymore Google just ignores them because of the prevalence of link farms and buying links etc.
The easiest way to get links is through article marketing and publishing on an article directory. This is not the path of the least work, it is the best path to get good, long term results. The setup is simple:
- Do some keyword research on your topic. Choose between two and five starting keywords you are going to focus on in the beginning. Make sure they get decent search volume, but do not go after stuff that is too generic (meaning it will have unusually large seached volume) - those will be way too hard to rank on in a reasonable amount of time.
- You will need to plan out the time to write ten to twelve articles per keyword, with each article being about 300 to 500 words in length and each containing links using 1 of your keywords. Use the keyword itself as your link text, not a URL like http://.
- Publish 4 of the articles on a major article directory that has good ranking such as Ezine Articles or ArticlesBase. These have human reviewers so it will take a bit of time to get your article published. Luckily they do not expect it to be the first time its published, so while you are waiting there you can post it elsewhere.
- Make sure you get some software that helps to spin the article content and links. Basically spinning allows you to subsitute words and sentences for one another so that you can get a different article from the same basic article. Auto-rewriting software should be off limits, the results are usually terrible, and they will not help you at all. Usually it reads like garbage and that will not help your rankings. If you learn how to spin the article properlly, you can easily get 15-20 additional, good articles from a single source which will eliiminate the worry about duplicate content.
- The step to follow next is to look for places to start distributing your content and get links back. You can do this manually for free, or find some tools to purchase that can greatly speed this up. I usually choose to pay some money in the savings of time. There are simply so many things that go into improving rankings that you need a trade off at times so that you can get it all done. You want to make sure you spread out the distribution - its unnatural for any site to go from no links to 500 links in 1 day - what is more natural is 0 to 10 to 18 to 25 to 40 … over several weeks of time the level will keep building.
- Another step that needs to be done is to track your ranking level for the few keywords you are starting out with. After you have built up approximately 300+ links back to your site, you should start to see ranking movement higher on some of them. Certain keywords will not be as difficult: much less, and by all means the more competitive ones might take thousands.Your goal on most keywords should be to get into the top 20 at least in ranking, number 1 is nice but sometimes the effort needed to keep and hold it is not worth it.
- In addition to the article work, you can also use social media accounts to link to each of the articles you publish AND also to your main web site. You should make a hub pages site and a squidoo lens about each article and link to your site. If you feel really ambitious, a press release about your website launch or new products is always a good thing. Just make sure you actually have something to say that is newsworthy.
Sites all want niche content on them to improve the quality score. Most want articles about their site topic to keep the viewer on the site longer and to get better search enging ranking. This is exactly why article marketing works - you get links on disribution sites, webmasters get to search for content to add to their site from what is published.

Find Great Content On Article DirectoriesBy admin on May 24th, 2009 | No Comments
Article directories help you in two ways - they get you ranked faster on new keywords and they help spread your marketing message. While you can write tons of articles about generic related content to your site, you can also write articles that are a review of your services, or are a promotional piece that links to your site. Article directories usually do not discriminate against such content unless the quality is poor or it appears overly spammy.
Some article directories such as Ezine have human editors that read and approve every article. An article directory like this does not allow links in the content other than would be required to understand what you are writing about. But they do allow you a nice author and site plug at the bottom of the content. For this type of article directory, you want your content to appear professional and unbiased, and most of all avoid sounding like a sales pitch.
Remember, any articles you submit with a link to your site will usually be associated with your brand (or remembered as such). So you always want to submit quality articles and not a lot of junk that does not read or make sense even if an article directory allows you to do so without anyone rejecting your article. If you want to have others help you create articles, make sure you filter them to keep quality high so your articles get redistributed more. Also try not to submit the same article dozens of times to different article directories. A few times is alright, but you have to realize your content will be redistributed by others also, and all this duplicate content can get you penalized by the search engines.

Article Directories Can Get You RankingBy admin on May 16th, 2009 | No Comments
Using an article directory to market your articles is a great way to get backlinks and additionally market your brand and image. One thing you do not want to do is to spam a bunch of poorly written articles all over the net, or articles that make no sense but have backlinks to your site. This usually backfires in the long run, and makes anyone reading it far far less likely to ever click on the link and visit your site.No clickthu leads to no conversions for anything you might be trying to accomplish.
Make sure you write and submit a quality article, because most article directories have manual screening methods to filter out junk that is not up to speed. This keeps out a ton of junk and spam - and probably your article too, if you do not do a good job in the writing department. Keep in mind the target audience for your article for each article directory and it will help you write it in the best manner.
You should have 5-7 article directories in mind for every article you write.Additionally, you might want to get some “spin” software to help you take a single article and create many more unique articles from this start. Basically “spinning” allows a computer to substitute sentences on output so it might have an A, a B and a C choice for each sentence. It will mix and match sentences randomly based upon the choices it has when you set it up.
The more articles you write, the more backlinks you will get to your site. In addition, the quality article directories will have decent page rankings which is always a big help in and of itself. Some article directories have become a hub for other sites looking for content - this is an added bonus to using them.

Keys to Get TrafficBy admin on May 8th, 2009 | No Comments
No matter how good a writer you are, or how creative your site is, without any traffic it does not matter.Fancy graphics and flash do not matter if no one actually comes to your website to view them. Traffic is always the end game for anyone trying to publish ads or sell anything on the web. It seems like its a mystery to most, as most products sold on the web focuses on content, PPC (which is not bad, but also very hard to get right), or management products to help with productivity.Very few really work on the nuts and bolts of where you get traffic from.
With any venture on the web, your number one source of traffic for the long run should be natural, search engine based. Why? Once you build your site up on a few keywords that get decent search volume, this traffic will be consistent. PPC or other methods are fine, but are also subject to other risks that must be managed. Basically you need links and content - this is the key to getting higher rankings on Google.
One way to get links is through submitting niche articles related to your site to an article directory. Once you decide on what type of site you want to build to either sell stuff OR just do adsense revenue, its a good idea to write at least 20 articles (300-500 words).Make sure you have signed up for an Adsense and Adwords account before you write any articles, even if you have no plans to use them.Google has several great free tools for doing keyword research. You don’t need to spend days researching keywords BUT you really need to pick 3 or 4 keywords to focus on for your articles that get decent traffic in the search engines and are related to your topic. Another tool you can use that is free is PPC Web Spy (just google it) - it allows you to see what keywords people are bidding on for their PPC ads on Google - again, they have probably done extensive work since they are paying for the ad clicks - no reason you cannot just benefit from their work and use some of those keywords.
Once this is done, make sure you write at least 5 articles per keyword grouping (2 for each article) with links to your site using those keyworeds. Do not try to tackle too many keywords at once - you need about 200-300 links realistically for each keyword to move up - depending on how popular they are it may take more. This is where any article directory comes in handy. You then sumbit your article which is then redistributed for you by the directory to others looking for content or to learn about a subject. This really does make getting links easier and faster in the long run - it just takes a bit of time to start working. In addition, you may want a tool to help rewrite your articles so that many different versions are distributed to thousands of sites. This is a key to quicker ranking on the engines as the same thing distributed over and over just does not do the trick.
In addition to articles, you will want to submit your site on all the major social networks like Facebook, StumbleUpon, Delicious, Digg, etc. The more the better. You will want to create an account on all of them - very time consuming but needs to only be done one time. You can do a search on Google or other engines for a list of the major ones.Once this is done, you can also use tools to automate posting to all of your accounts at once which saves a huge amount of time.
Most stuff you want to do on the web can be found for free, but the key is free vs time saved by paying for tools to help automate stuff. I usually opt for the time saving tools - in the long run its really worth it as there are only so many hours in the day. Its always a trade off of time and ease of use vs paying for it.Some things I accomplish with completely free tools, others I pay a monthly fee to use because of the amount of time saved so I can get more done.
Assuming you write articles and then submit to social networks, you should start to see some results in about a month. Longer term, even once you get ranking, you need a plan to continually feed articles to directories - not as often as the beginning, but you really want to do at least 1 per month per keyword to keep fresh links coming into the search engines.Over longer periods of time, the existing links that get distributed disappear as sites go offline or content is replaced.Once you have a decent amount of articles written, you can often just do a complete rewrite of an older article and then submit that again.

Four Ways To Understand Article MarketingBy admin on May 2nd, 2009 | No Comments
Article marketing is probably one of the easier understood ways to actually get ranking on the search engines. And more importantly, its totally above board when done right and you dont have to worry about getting blacklisted.A lot of people avoid it because its a bit "harder" in terms of actual work. So anyone looking for the easy scam way to get ranking, and who does not want to build it right avoids it at all costs.Done right, the time you sink now into getting it right will pay off handsomely for years to come.
A good first rule is to only write about topics you are very familiar with.It is just simpler. Most of the time people create sites or businesses around stuff they know (occasionally no). This makes it much easier to write about what you know. Of course you can easily do research too - just go to an article directory, pick your niche topic and start reading. You would be amazed at how fast you can pick up basic information - often enough to craft an article. In addition to the above, make sure you write in a simple to understand style. There is no point in using fancy words - afterall the primary focus is the backlinks in the article. This is not a doctoral thesis - you want to create an article in 15-20 minutes and move on to modifications and other stuff.
A second rule is to make sure you write your article in such a way that its easy to rewrite it some. Why?? You used to be able to mass distribute the same thing across the net and get a bonus for the numbers - those days are gone. Now days, the search engines are smart enough to see that they are duplicate copies - a few is ok, but having 1000’s you will actually get penalized for. This is where rewriting comes in. There are software tools out there that can help you - BUT do not let them do it for you.The end result is often just garbage that makes little or no sense. The search engines are onto this too (they have semantics) and you will get penalized, plus it just makes your site linked look bad that such an idiot that cannot even write would link to you (readers would not know it was you who wrote it). One of the best tools I have ever used for rewriting exists at My Article Network. Not only can you completely rewrite articles with ease with the tools on board, but it then auto distributes your article across 10,000 blogs over time.
A good third rule is to try to limit your use of links in the article. Most article directories limit you anyway but outside of that you can post on blogs and elsewhere with as many links as you want.Search engines are on to that trick, so use common sense and dont do it.If one link is good, 70 links are not better.A good rule of thumb is to not use more than 1 link per 200 words. In addition, you want to be consistent with your keyword links to get benefit.Do not try to get ranking with 20 keywords at once by switching them around all the time. You need some repetition to get any ranking boost at all. Concentrate on 2 or 3 keywords and move your ranking up.Once you achieve ranking on page 1 or 2 on Google, then you can move on to other words to broaden the base.
A forth rule to remember is repetition makes it all work. For the first month or 2, you really need to post a new article for distribution every 2-3 days. Even after you get higher ranking, you still need to pump in some linked articles at least once a week to keep it fresh. The search engines look at the date of the posts that have the link - over time they decay the value of those links if they see nothing new coming in.You will want accounts at all the major article networks such as Ezine that you can post on- search google for a list.
Done properly, article marketing can be a central hub to other stuff you do to boost your overall site ranking and visibility.

Web Content Brings Free VisitorsBy admin on December 30th, 2008 | No Comments
For many years, those in the search engine optimization world have debated about the most critical elements of a website, which are making it appealing to internet surfers and attracting the attention of the search engines. There is no question that web content is king and that it is the single most important factor that gives sites good search engine ranking and getting visitors who return frequently.
While virtually all search engine optimization (SEO) experts now agree about the importance of content in order to attract the attention of internet surfers and the search engines, not all of these experts agree about what constitutes “good” website content. There are those who suggest that simply having loads of free website content such as PLR articles will be sufficient to attract the attention of the search engines, especially if the content is rich in keywords that are geared toward the topic of the site.
However, a good web content advisor will typically insist that the quantity of the free website content, combined with an excessive use of keywords, sometimes called keyword stuffing, is not nearly as important as the quality of the content. While the search engines can be lured to list a site highly in the search rankings based on a lot of keyword rich content, the live visitors to a site are not so easily fooled.
A good content writer knows that to succeed in traffic building they need to keep the attention of the human beings who are visiting a website, there must be good quality content that provides the visitor with the information that they are looking for. There is a standard formula that good copywriters use to help ensure that what they are writing for the website will do the job of keeping visitors on the site, exploring it fully, and encouraging them to come back.
The formula is summed up in a four-letter anagram: AIDA. This anagram stands for the four most critical elements of good website content that every content writer should keep in mind. These elements are: Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. For the owner of a new website or blog trying to create to create their first introductory web page may find the formula a little intimidating.
But, if the web content writer will keep these four points in mind, while also remembering to keep the topic in mind at all times, the whole process can become rather automated and will flow easily. Gaining the attention of the website visitor can be as simple as crafting a good headline or an opening paragraph that speaks to their need or that sparks their curiosity.
Building curiosity can also lead directly into the second part of the formula, interest. Typically, website visitors are looking to gather information to enhance their lives or to solve a problem. Provide information that fuels that interest and they will continue reading further to gain information. If you have a solution to their problem, then build their desire to learn about that solution by explaining how it has helped others with similar problems.
The final step in the AIDA formula consists of the action that the writer wants the reader to take. Whenever someone is writing persuasive content for a website, it is important to always keep in mind what the content writer ultimately wants the reader to do. Perhaps the action is to purchase a product or it could be something more subtle, such as signing up to receive an email newsletter that will deliver more related content to their inbox.
If you own an internet retail store or a webpage then you know how important web content is for your business. The content that you display on your website can make or break your business. You have to know where to turn to for the right advertisements, the right links and even the right information. It can be very confusing at first but if you stick with it, you can make your webpage a true success. Even if you are not selling anything but instead providing information, you need to know the basics about the right content.
